About Barry Morris Ph.D.

Barry has combined his organization development, human resource, and social work capabilities with practical business and executive experience to quickly clarify and resolve complex business issues.  His consulting practice is focused on the development of businesses, organizations, communities, and their leaders.  Through engagement, strategic planning and alignment, organization development, and human resource management Barry strives to help organizations achieve desired results and to positively influence the roles, responsibilities and needs of people in organizations. Barry's clients become capable of managing change, creating sustainable high-performance environments, and effectively managing critical decisions and activities that accelerate their business results. 

Barry has a PhD. in Organization Behavior and Development from Case Western Reserve University and a Masters Degree in Social Work from Ohio State University.  He worked at Chiquita Brands International for 15 years beginning as the Manager of Organization Development and ending as Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Organization Development for the corporation.  During this time Barry helped change the culture of the organization, dramatically improved productivity, led strategic planning, implemented a leading corporate and social responsibility initiative, reduced labor unrest, built a state of the art HR organization focused on business strategy, developed creative and effective leadership development programs and processes, managed the organization through a financial restructuring and turnaround, led community development initiatives in the US and Latin America, and efficiently managed all other HR responsibilities: recruitment and staffing, compensation, benefits, training and development, and organization development. 

Prior to his time at Chiquita, Barry worked for Anheuser Busch as the Manager of Organization Development and was a principle in Performance Development Associates, a consulting firm focused on creating high performance organizations.

Barry is currently very active in community development activities in Cincinnati, and is immediate past President and board member of Jewish Family Services, board member of the Jewish Community Relations Council, board member of Beech Acres, and committee member of the Careers Task Force for the Williams College of Business Administration at Xavier University.
